Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-11-07
pomSENS is being developed by Antala Limited in Nelson, New Zealand (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect through pomsens.com, why, and the choices you have. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and send marketing email only under the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
What we collect
- When you join early access: your email address, your consent to receive updates (with the time and the wording you agreed to), and, if you choose to tell us, where you would use pomSENS and whether you might like to test a prototype.
- If you answer our survey: your answers, linked to your sign-up. Every question is optional. If you are interested in testing, you may also give your town or region and whether that place has Wi-Fi.
- Automatically: the country your connection comes from (as reported by our hosting provider), and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example
utm_source). We also count page views and button clicks without cookies and without anything that identifies you: we record the event, the page, the day, the campaign tag, the country, which version of the page you saw and, for sign-ups and surveys, the use case and testing interest you chose; not who you are.
We do not use advertising cookies or trackers. Our spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) inspects your browser to tell people from bots once you start filling in the sign-up form; Cloudflare processes that under its own privacy policy.
Why we collect it
- To send the pomSENS updates and early-access invitations you asked for.
- To understand who pomSENS could help, what matters to them, and what they would expect to pay.
- To invite some people who expressed interest to test a prototype.
- To keep the site secure and free of spam.
Answering the survey is not consent to marketing; only the sign-up checkbox is. We do not sell or rent your information.
We only email you about pomSENS if you have ticked the consent box. Every email identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe by writing to info@pomsens.com.
Where it is stored and who processes it
We use these service providers, which may store information outside New Zealand:
- Cloudflare: hosting, our database, spam protection and page-view statistics.
- Brevo: sending and managing our email updates (based in the European Union).
They process information on our behalf and under our instructions. Access to our sign-up records is limited to the people working on pomSENS.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up and survey answers while pomSENS is in development. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you. If you ask us to delete your details, we delete your sign-up, consent record and survey answers, and remove you from our email provider. We may keep totals and percentages that cannot identify anyone.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@pomsens.com and we will respond within 20 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner.
Product status
pomSENS is currently in development. Features, availability and specifications may change. pomSENS is not a smoke detector or a replacement for approved alarm and safety systems. Keep your certified smoke alarms installed, tested and maintained.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email.
